Activity Details
We'll meet at the Los Cuarteros fish market, where we'll kick off this traditional fishing adventure in the Mar Menor. Welcome! First, we'll give you a detailed introduction to the history and workings of this iconic fish market.
Then it's time for the action, as we watch a live fish auction in real time. You'll feel the excitement of the bidding and see up close how professionals negotiate and buy the day's catch. A unique chance to experience this tradition from the inside!
After the auction, we'll head to the dock and board the boat. We'll cast off and sail to the fishing grounds. As we enjoy the ride and the scenery of the Mar Menor lagoon, we'll serve you 1 drink per person.
Once we reach the fishing area, we'll witness the most exciting moment of the day: hauling in the nets. You'll watch the net being lifted from the boat as your guide explains which species have been caught, along with fun facts about their habitats. We'll also show you how the fish are sorted following strict quality and sustainability standards.
With the nets in, we'll head back to the port of San Javier. But the experience doesn't end when we dock. To top off this seafaring day, we'll head to a beach bar for a tasting of the freshly caught fish, cooked in the area's traditional style.
With the best possible taste in our mouths, we'll wrap up this fishing experience in the Mar Menor.
