With your ticket to the Royal Palace of Riofrío, you'll visit one of Spain’s hidden gems surrounded by lush forests. Explore its rooms and uncover its fascinating history.

The Royal Palace of Riofrío

Nestled between the towns of Real Sitio de San Ildefonso and Navas de Riofrío, the Royal Palace of Riofrío is one of Spain's lesser-known royal residences, offering visitors a glimpse into its rich history and stunning surroundings.

With your ticket, you can explore this majestic palace at your own pace. Surrounded by the lush Riofrío Forest, the palace sits in a natural area teeming with biodiversity, including oaks, junipers, and ash trees. This tranquil setting once served as a retreat for Spanish royalty, commissioned by Queen Isabel de Farnesio in 1751 as a hunting lodge.

Inside, you’ll discover key rooms like Francisco de Asís’ bedroom, the billiard room, the dining room, Alfonso XII’s office, and the oratory. The east wing features the Hunting Museum, where you can view historical weapons and trophies that reflect the area’s rich hunting tradition.

Take your time enjoying the palace and its history, and don’t miss the breathtaking views of the surrounding forest. This visit is a perfect opportunity to uncover the charm of one of Spain’s hidden gems.
